Inmet: weather forecast between May 4th and 11th, 2026

Rainfall amounts could reach 100 mm in the North, Northeast, and South, while the Central-West region will experience predominantly dry weather.

The weather forecast for May 4th to 11th indicates a scenario of strong climatic contrast in Brazil. According to the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet), intense rainfall is expected in parts of the North, Northeast, and South regions, while the Central-West region should face predominantly dry and stable weather throughout the week.

Na Northern RegionThe highest rainfall totals are expected in Amazonas, Pará, and Amapá, with volumes that could exceed 100 mm in seven days, especially in central and southern Amazonas, southern Amapá, and areas of Pará. In other areas, rainfall will be irregular, with volumes less than 60 mm.

No NortheastThe most intense rainfall is expected to be concentrated in northern Maranhão and Piauí, as well as along the coast of Rio Grande do Norte, Paraíba, and Pernambuco, where accumulations could exceed 80 mm. In the interior of the region, however, the weather remains dry, with low humidity and no rain.

O Midwest There will be isolated and irregular rainfall, with up to 40 mm in northwestern Mato Grosso and southern Mato Grosso do Sul. In other areas, including Goiás and the Federal District, the weather will be predominantly dry, with a low probability of precipitation.

Na SoutheastThe week will be marked by stability and little cloud cover. Light rain is forecast only in southern São Paulo and along parts of the coast.

Now at SulThe passage of a cold front is expected to bring storms in the last days of the week, with the possibility of wind gusts, lightning, and hail. In Santa Catarina, rainfall totals could reach 80 mm, while in Rio Grande do Sul and Paraná, volumes should remain below 60 mm, except for the extreme south of Rio Grande do Sul, where they could reach 100 mm.

Temperatures vary from cold in the South to hot in the Midwest and Northeast.

Temperatures are also expected to vary significantly throughout the week. SulThe lowest minimum temperatures in the country are expected, possibly reaching -1°C in the mountainous areas of Santa Catarina on Sunday (10).

On the other hand, the highest peaks should occur in Midwest and Northeast, with temperatures close to 38°C, especially in the Corumbá region (MS) and in the northeastern hinterland.

Na Northern RegionThe Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) keeps temperatures milder, with highs around 30°C, although areas of Tocantins and northeastern Roraima may reach up to 36°C.

No NortheastIn the Central-West region, highs will range between 23°C and 38°C, particularly in the interior and areas of Maranhão, Piauí and Bahia throughout the week. In the Central-West, the heat will prevail until Friday (8), followed by a sharp drop in temperatures, especially in Mato Grosso do Sul, where the minimum temperatures may fall below 10°C over the weekend.

No SoutheastMaximum temperatures could reach 38°C in areas of Rio de Janeiro, while temperatures will drop over the weekend, especially in São Paulo, where thermometers could fall below 10°C in some regions.
