Climate severely affects the soybean harvest in Rio Grande do Sul
The consequences include the opening of pods, the germination of grains and the proliferation of fungi, compromising the quality of production.
The Orion Group has plenty of reasons to celebrate the brand's presence at fairs and events focused on agribusiness. This year, the national manufacturer of equipment for applying bio-inputs in the furrow had significant increases in sales at two important fairs held in April and early May. At Agrishow, the largest and most important in the sector, Orion recorded a 120% increase in revenue and, at Tecnoshow, another 25%, compared to the sales volume obtained at the same events in 2023.
Next week, the company will participate in two events simultaneously: AgroBrasília, from the 21st to the 25th of May, in the Federal District, and will make its debut as an industry at Showtec, the biggest event in Mato Grosso do Sul, which takes place from the 21st to the 23rd. May, in Maracaju (MS). In both, Orion will have a large 200 square meter stand, with product displays and the presence of directors and other representatives of the group.
The strategy of presence at fairs has proven to be efficient not only in increasing sales, but also in strengthening relationships with customers and partners, who take advantage of visits to Orion's stands to learn more about the products, network and have direct contact with company representatives.
According to Orion's director of marketing and new business, Rodrigo Alandia, the “sales success” at the stands has been the Hunter line, which offers tank capacity from 600 to 3 thousand liters, with diaphragm pumps with hydraulic drive and a application properly sized to accurately meet the required application rate, placing the biological product without loss in the groove and thus guaranteeing 98% of live and viable bacteria.
The Brazilian company was founded in 1967 by Ricardo Rodrigues da Cunha, current president and director of research and development. The Orion Group intends to reach other markets and is working to consolidate an audacious expansion plan, which includes the construction of plants in Paraguay – where it already has a representative office – and in Europe, starting with Portugal. The United States market is also on the manufacturer's radar.
Orion is still investing around R$25 million in the construction of a new, modern factory in the city of Quintana (SP), 14 km away from its current headquarters in Pompéia, which should be inaugurated later this year.
Orion also launched at Agrishow and will take to AgroBrasília and Showtec the GreenSystemTM FA 1500 Double Shot, an unprecedented piece of equipment capable of applying two types of product at the same time – biological and chemical –, in the same planting line, with efficiency and quality. . This product is the result of Orion's strategic partnership with John Deere.
The new equipment has two completely independent hydraulic circuits, which can work with variable rate application and session cutting. The FA 1500 Double Shot has two tanks – the main one, 1.500 liters, which holds biological inputs and has a 75 l/min pump, and the secondary tank, 120 liters, for chemical inputs, with a 36 l pump. /min.
The nozzle for applying chemical input is positioned right after the cutting disc and must work at greater depth, thus avoiding contact with the bio-input. The nozzle for applying biological input is positioned right after the double discs for opening the furrow. This way, it is possible to carry out both applications in the same planting line without compromising performance.
