Garantia-Safra authorizes payment for more than 60 thousand family farmers

A Ordinance No. 26, which determines the payment of the Garantia-Harvest benefit ending the payment of the 2018/19 harvest, was published this Friday (17) by the Agricultural Policy Secretariat of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (Mapa). This month of July, 60.170 farmers from 78 municipalities in Alagoas, Bahia, Ceará, Minas Gerais, Paraíba, Pernambuco and Rio Grande do Norte were authorized to receive the benefit, around R$51 million in total. 

As published in Ordinance No. 15, of April 14, 2020, this payment of the Garantia-Safra benefit will be made in full in a single installment of R$850, due to the state of public calamity and the measures to combat the spread of the coronavirus pandemic. coronavirus (Covid-19). In normal situations, the benefit is paid in five installments. 

In the 2018/2019 harvest, according to current regulations in the Garantia-Safra, 480 municipalities distributed in the states of Alagoas, Bahia, Ceará, Maranhão, Minas Gerais, Paraíba, Pernambuco, Rio Grande do Norte and Sergipe benefited. 

In this harvest, payment was authorized for 425.404 enrolled beneficiaries, resulting in the availability of approximately R$19 million between the months of November/20 and July/361. 

Notification of farmers with blocked benefit

With the launch of the service ““Request a Defense Request after Blocking the Harvest Guarantee Benefit”, on the Gov.br platform, farmers adhering to Garantia-Safra who had the granting of the benefit blocked in the municipalities that had payment authorization in the month of July/2020, must comply with the guidelines set out in Ordinance No. 25, of July 08 2020 to regularize the benefit. 

If the benefit is blocked, the farmer must access his profile in the Garantia-Safra Management System, using this link and check the reason for the block using the notification in the profile. The farmer will have up to 30 days, after the publication of the Ordinance authorizing the payment of the benefit, to express his opinion regarding the blocking of the benefit. 

The list of farmers who had the benefit blocked, as a precautionary measure, will be forwarded by the State Coordinations to municipal managers.
