Deadline for citrus growers to submit the The Agricultural Defense Coordination (CDA) of the Secretariat of Agriculture and Supply (SAA) of the State of São Paulo informs citrus producers that the canker/HLB (Greening) report must be submitted by January 15th. The report must be sent through the computerized Animal and Plant Defense Management System (Gedave) and must contain the results of the quarterly inspections for citrus canker and Greening carried out between July 1st and December 31st, 2024 in all citrus plants on the property.

"The information provided in the report is not used for punitive purposes and is necessary to guide the actions of Agricultural Defense and guide the public policies of the State, always thinking about guaranteeing the sanitary sustainability of the agribusiness of São Paulo. Citrus farming has great economic relevance for the State, which is the main producer of citrus fruits, therefore, it is important that producers fill out the report declaring the results of the inspections", comments the agronomist Veridiana Zocoler, manager of the State Citrus Health Program.

“In addition, with the intensification of actions to combat Greening, the report will be extremely important for Agricultural Defense, since it is a diagnostic tool for the conditions of the orchards in the State, and the more precise the information, the better the results will be”, adds Alexandre Paloschi, director of the Department of Sanitary Defense and Plant Inspection.

Mapa Ordinance No. 317, of May 21, 2021, establishes the National HLB Prevention and Control Program (PNCHLB) and requires the elimination of symptomatic plants only for orchards under eight years old. Monitoring and control of the psyllid are mandatory in all orchards, regardless of age. In the State of São Paulo, submission of the report is mandatory for all producers, regardless of the age of the plants.
