GreenLight Biosciences, a global biotechnology company focused on innovative RNA-based solutions for agriculture, announces its first product in Brazil: Fortivance, an insecticide action maximizer, marking the company's arrival in the country with a technological proposal that is unprecedented in the market.

Formulated with biologically derived ingredients such as beta-glucans, Fortivance is able to interact with the liquid in the digestive tract of pests, regulating their pH, protecting insecticides from degradation and offering greater effectiveness.

"We are very proud to announce that our journey in Brazilian agribusiness begins with an innovation that delivers concrete results for farmers. Fortivance optimizes every drop of insecticides applied, not only improving their physical application characteristics but also directly reducing chemical molecule degradation, keeping active ingredients more stable and bioavailable for effective action directly on the pest. This means we offer farmers greater control efficiency, less waste, and a higher return on investment," says Areadne Zorzetto (pictured above), Marketing and Sales Director for GreenLight Biosciences in Latin America.

Fortivance was discovered during GreenLight Biosciences' advanced studies developing an RNA solution for controlling caterpillars, one of the main agricultural pests. During this process, the team of scientists identified innovative potential in adjusting the pH of the pests' digestive tract, which led to the creation of a unique formulation capable of enhancing conventional insecticides. This advancement reinforces the company's ability to generate disruptive solutions even from research trajectories across different fronts.

This innovative mechanism works by adjusting the alkalinity in the caterpillar's intestinal tract—usually around pH 10—to levels more favorable for pesticide action (between 7 and 8). The result is optimized insecticidal effect, reduced losses due to enzymatic degradation, and better utilization of applied inputs.

Field results are already evident: when combined with insecticides, Fortivance can provide up to 25% more protection compared to using insecticides alone, offering growers an efficient, high-performance solution.

Zorzetto also emphasizes that the adjuvant is in tune with current market demands: "Beyond performance, Fortivance features sustainable ingredients and is aligned with the search for safer solutions with lower environmental impact and compatible with integrated pest management programs. It's a modern, efficient, and conscious tool."

In addition to its performance differential, Fortivance offers high compatibility and stability in tank mixes, is biodegradable, has not shown any records of phytotoxicity in the crops and conditions tested and has a shelf life of two years.

"We believe that the future of agriculture lies in the union of advanced science and respect for the environment. Fortivance is GreenLight Biosciences' first step toward delivering this future today, in the Brazilian countryside," concludes Zorzetto.

In addition to the launch of Fortivance, GreenLight Biosciences is already mobilizing efforts to introduce its exclusive RNA solutions platform in Brazil, focusing on precise pest control and sustainable agricultural management. The country is among the company's main strategic markets, as it sees Brazilian agriculture as fertile ground for biotechnological innovation that respects the environment and offers high performance in the field.

Fortivance is now available at major retailers across the country.
