Regions of Goiás have already finished cotton harvesting

The harvest reached 97,37% of the entire planted area

A new survey carried out on September 9 shows that most regions have either completed the harvest or are harvesting their last hectares. The harvest reached 97,37% of the entire planted area, compared to the 95,58% recorded on September 2nd. The survey is carried out by the Cotton Culture Incentive Fund in Goiás (Fialgo), which monitors the entire harvest period on cotton-producing farms in the state.

Region 1, made up of the municipalities of Goiatuba, Morrinhos, Palmeiras de Goiás, Itumbiara and Turvelândia, completed 100% of its harvest, a small improvement compared to the previous week, when it had recorded 97,35% of the harvest harvested. The current percentage represents 10,02% of the total area harvested in Goiás.

Region 2, which brings together the municipalities of Caiapônia, Chapadão do Céu, Jataí, Mineiros, Rio Verde, Montividiu and Perolândia, saw its harvested area increase from 98,12% to 99,67% in one week. This value corresponds to 53,48% of the total area of ​​Goiás.

Region 3, which covers the municipalities of Cabeceiras, Cristalina and Luziânia, reached 99,74%, rising slightly from the 98,03% recorded on September 2nd. The current record corresponds to 29,91% of the total at the state level.

In turn, Region 4, formed only by the municipality of Britânia, began harvesting after the other regions and reached 56,61% of its area, a good improvement in relation to the 50,89% recorded in the previous week. However, this percentage represents 3,96% of the entire planted area in Goiás.

Fialgo has also been monitoring the progress of the processing of lint harvested in Goiás. To date, 76,41% of the 2021-2022 cotton harvest has been processed. The percentage was 69,32% on September 2th.
