Demand for more sustainable practices favors a system that currently occupies 10% of the cereal area in RS
The last week of January begins with the news that 84,37% of the area planned for cotton cultivation has already been planted in the state. The survey shows that, in Region 1, made up of the municipalities of Goiatuba, Morrinhos, Palmeiras de Goiás and Turvelândia, planting reached 82,74% of its total planned area. The number represents 8% of the total area to be planted in Goiás.
In Region 2, made up of the municipalities of Caiapônia, Chapadão do Céu, Mineiros, Jataí, Montividiu, Rio Verde and Perolândia, planting reached 97,18%, a number that represents 49,17% of the total in the state.
Region 3 completed planting with 100% of its area, which corresponds to 27,20% at the state level. The region encompasses the municipalities of Cristalina, Cabeceiras and Luziânia.
Region 4, made up of the municipality of Britânia, has not yet started sowing cotton due to Agrodefesa's planting calendar, which foresees planting in this region for February.
The survey is carried out by the Cotton Culture Incentive Fund in Goiás (Fialgo), which monitors planting on cotton farms throughout the state.
