The Government of Goiás, through Emater Goiás, the Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (Seapa) and the Social Policies Office, will invest R$30 million in Social Credit in 2025. The resources used are from the Social Protection Fund of the State of Goiás (Protege Goiás) and will be allocated to rural producers trained by Emater, through the Agro é Social program.

Emater president Rafael Gouveia states that Agro é Social has become the largest productive inclusion program in Brazil. “In 2024, the program left its mark. With the seven editions we held, we ended the year with more than 4,6 producers benefiting from the Social Credit card worth up to R$5 each. The program has become a reference in Brazil and has helped Goiás reduce the number of families in extreme poverty, through Social Credit,” he highlights.

In seven editions of Agro é Social held in 2024, Emater Goiás delivered R$23 million in Social Credit cards and certified 5,8 producers in 121 municipalities in Goiás. Once trained, students receive financial aid to purchase inputs and put into practice what they learned in the courses. The goal of the program is to provide conditions and opportunities for those who dream of undertaking, prospering and increasing their income.

The first Emater regional offices that will host the Agro é Social editions in 2025 have already been defined: Paranaíba, Caiapó, Sul, Sudoeste and Estrada de Ferro. Training will begin in January.

“Our mission is the social development and inclusion of rural producers in the state of Goiás. We are very happy to see producers taking action and applying the benefits to transform their lives and their entire families. The impact is both inside and outside the home because it generates income and moves the economy of the entire municipality,” says Emater president Rafael Gouveia.
