Geopolitics and innovation mark the 25th Soybean Technical Meeting in Mato Grosso

Largest national producer of soybean, with 12,7 million hectares cultivated and almost 50 million tons harvested, Mato Grosso will host the 13th Soybean Technical Meeting between May 15 and 25. The event, promoted by the Mato Grosso Agricultural Research Support Foundation (Fundação MT), will take place at the FATEC/SENAI headquarters in Cuiabá.

At the opening, on the 13th at 19 pm, the panel “The current scenario and global trends for agriculture” will address the geopolitical impacts on the sector. André Debastiani, from Agroconsult, will participate, as well as producers Odílio Balbinotti Filho and Marcelo Vendrame.

The debate will address market trends, pricing and the export scenario. “There is a trade war underway. This favors Brazil, which is experiencing a record harvest and is facing strong global demand,” says Debastiani.

The program is aimed at producers, technicians, agronomists and representatives of the agribusiness. According to Debastiani, the event provides fundamental discussions on topics both inside and outside the farm.

One of the highlights of the event is the virtual tour of the MT Foundation's research areas. Using virtual reality, the public will be able to see laboratories and greenhouses, as well as the crop rotation experiment that has been conducted for 18 harvests in Itiquira.

“The tour provides immersive access to structures that are not normally available to the public,” says Luís Carlos de Oliveira, manager of the Foundation. The action reinforces the institution’s commitment to innovation and connection with the sector.

The meeting will also celebrate the 32nd anniversary of the MT Foundation, with a tribute to former presidents of the board of trustees. Created in 1993, the entity played a decisive role in the consolidation of soybeans in the Cerrado region of Mato Grosso.
