In the year it celebrates ten years in Tocantins, Frísia Cooperativa Agroindustrial announces the construction of a new distribution center in the state, in the municipality of Pium, as part of its strategy to expand and strengthen its operations in the state. The project foresees an investment of approximately R$ 100 million and the creation of around 20 direct jobs after the start of operations, in addition to employing more than 200 workers during the construction period.

Construction of the unit is scheduled to begin in June 2026, with completion estimated for January 2028. The structure was planned to meet the growth of agricultural production in the region and expand support for cooperative members.

The decision to invest in the new distribution center was the result of a strategic analysis process and the expansion of agricultural activity in the region. “Even in the face of a challenging scenario, the cooperative continues to grow in Tocantins. The Pium region is one of the fastest growing in recent years and, after three years of in-depth studies, we decided to make this investment to meet the needs of our members,” says Geraldo Slob, president of the Frísia Board of Directors.

The new processing plant has a projected operational capacity to receive up to 600 tons per hour, a processing line of 240 tons per hour, and a total storage capacity of 42 tons of grain. The unit will also have a warehouse for supplies.

According to Frísia's executive manager in Tocantins, Marcelo Cavazotti, the choice of Pium as the location for the new unit took into account the region's productive potential and the growing presence of cooperative members. "It is a very prosperous region, with high agricultural potential and an already consolidated production area for our cooperative members," he explains.

Growth

The investment is also aligned with the cooperative's strategic planning for the coming years. "Within our strategic planning cycle, which runs from 2025 to 2030, our goal is to grow sustainably in Tocantins and add value to the business of our members. This distribution center aligns with that objective," emphasizes the executive manager.

For producers, the new structure will bring important logistical and operational gains. "In practice, the cooperative member will have greater agility in receiving and processing grains, savings on freight, and closer access to inputs, as well as security in supply," adds Cavazotti.

The area cultivated with soybeans in Tocantins jumped from 14,7 hectares in the 2020/2021 crop year to 40,4 hectares in the 2024/2025 crop year, with an average productivity of 3.771 kg/ha in the last crop year, above the 3.057 kg/ha of 20/21.

Frísia has been present in Tocantins since 2016, and in 2026 it will celebrate a decade of operation in the state. Currently, the cooperative has 110 members and 60 employees in the region, with units in Paraíso do Tocantins and Dois Irmãos do Tocantins, as well as an administrative office in Palmas.

In recent years, the cooperative has been making several investments in its facilities, with the aim of keeping pace with the growth of agricultural production in the region.
