With the aim of systematizing and disseminating his knowledge acquired in years of work as an agronomist and university professor, Mauro Antônio Rizzardi, doctor in weed plants from UFRGS (Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul), launches, in July 2019, the platform digital Up.Herb (www.upherb.com.br).

Completely free, the page offers all types of information about weeds. The material was organized into topics (species identification, weed biology, integrated control methods, chemical control, symptoms and behavior of herbicides in the environment, weed resistance; application technology). It also offers a library with newsletters and books.

“We realized that the content available until then was dispersed, with restricted access and, often, in English; Therefore, we saw the need to have, in a single location, complete and quality material on the subject”, says Rizzardi.

Up.Herb aims to help students in agronomy and related areas, as well as agronomists, consultants, rural producers and other professionals involved in agribusiness. It includes crops such as soybeans, corn, irrigated rice, sugar cane, cotton, beans, wheat, pastures, fruit and forestry species, thus offering content of interest to the entire national territory.

In addition, technical lectures, webinars, short courses, training and consultancy will be held through the Up.Herb platform. on-site visit.

Up.Herb is in partnership with Corteva Agriscience, a company with a broad portfolio of products for seeds, crop protection and technologies, and AgroEfetiva, which works with research, training and consultancy in the Brazilian agricultural market.
