Coopavel Mais Trigo has unprecedented differences to strengthen triticulture
The cooperative's operating area allocates 130 thousand hectares for the activity, which is equivalent to 10% of what is cultivated with the cereal in the state of Paraná
OneSoil is a Swiss-Belarusian company that helps farmers remotely monitor crops with the help of vegetation index (NDVI). To this end, the company offers two free applications that use satellite images for agricultural analysis and that provide information on the status of plants.
The web application facilitates remote crop monitoring, creation of variable rate seed and fertilizer application maps, and visualization of field data. And the mobile application, OneSoil Scouting, in addition to the features already mentioned, allows the user to take notes about the field and also works in offline mode, which is very useful in day-to-day life in the field. Both versions optimize work time and save money on supplies.
NDVI, which is the index used by OneSoil, measures the quantity and quality of vegetation in a given area during the crop growth stage. Through calculations carried out from satellite images, it is possible to assess the exact condition of a plantation, which is a great help to producers.
"We hope to transform the way Brazilian farmers currently monitor their plantations, offering accurate data that simplifies their work", reinforces Slava Mazai, CEO of OneSoil.
For agricultural engineer consultant Rodrigo Zimmer, from Guarapuava (PR), the application helped save a large amount of money on the application of growth regulators: “Our barley plantation was hit by a frost that greatly damaged the plants in some parts of the country. plot. By using OneSoil data to create a variable rate application map of growth regulators, we were able to see that in these affected areas we would not need to use the product, which helped us save about $10.” It also uses technology to apply variable seed rates and monitor the vegetative health of the plant.
OneSoil already offers solutions to more than 300 farmers and agricultural consultants in 183 countries, covering 6% of the world's total arable land, which corresponds to 90 million hectares. In Brazil, it currently serves 52 thousand users and covers 32% of the land (17,9 million hectares), a number that the company hopes to increase to 50% within two years.
OneSoil applications are powered by satellite imagery, machine learning algorithms, and big data analytics. In addition, the company provides analytical and technological solutions for large agricultural companies.
To use the feature, simply download the mobile app OneSoil Scouting for iOS or Android or register with web application. Both are free.
