Foz do Iguaçu (PR) will host the 9th edition of CBSOJA

The event, promoted by the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation – Embrapa Soja, is the largest technical-scientific forum for the soy production chain in South America.

The city of Foz de Iguaçu (PR) will host, from June 28th to July 01st, 2021, the 9th edition of the Brazilian Soy Congress (CBSoja). The event, promoted by the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation – Embrapa Soja, is the largest technical-scientific forum on the soybean production chain in South America, bringing together renowned experts from various segments linked to the soybean complex, one of the largest production chains in Brazilian agriculture. .

“Since the first edition, both the technical program and the exhibitors have sought to present the main innovations that are at the forefront of knowledge and impact the sector, as well as to discuss/propose solutions that minimize risks/threats to production sustainable soybean. This motto has made it possible to transfer the main advances in scientific knowledge to participants on the most diverse topics related to the production chain, providing opportunities for technical/scientific interaction between participants, speakers and the main companies that operate in this production chain”, highlights Adilson de Oliveira Júnior , researcher at Embrapa Soja and president of the event's Organizing Committee.

Embrapa Soja is already working on the technical programming of the event, which should address issues linked to the current technological challenges of production systems, to new opportunities that are emerging for the production chain, having, for example, sustainability as a driver for opening new markets, the insertion of the chain in the bioeconomy era, advances in the area of ​​genome editing and other emerging and disruptive technologies that can add value, improve efficiency and profitability, among other prominent themes on the world stage. The IX CBSoja Organization will also soon open opportunities for sponsorship and purchase of stands for companies to participate in the Technology Fair taking place at the Congress.

The IX CBSoja should bring together more than 2 thousand participants from different producing regions in Brazil and also from Mercosur countries, an audience made up of the main leaders and opinion makers in the soy production chain, represented by producers, researchers, businesspeople, teachers, professionals in the area of ​​technical assistance and agricultural planning, cooperatives, agtechs, industrialists, exporters and academics.

Soybean cultivation has great economic importance on the Brazilian agenda. In addition to accounting for a significant part of the Agricultural GDP, it promotes the development of many cities and indirect businesses that generate employment, income and quality of life for the population. “It is an organized chain, which serves as the basis for many other chains such as animal proteins and biofuels and is strategic for Brazil. The IX CBSoja is the event that brings together all the links and promotes genuine integration of the chain in discussions that allow it to advance strategically in the sector's major challenges” explains José Renato Bouças Farias, general manager of Embrapa Soja.
