Ford delivered 40 Cargo 816 model trucks to the government of Rio Grande do Sul, which will be used to transport family farming products, an activity that has a strong presence in the state. The acquisition was made through the Secretariat of Rural Development, Fisheries and Cooperatives (SDR), equipping the reception centers associated with government purchasing programs for family farming in different municipalities.
All vehicles in the batch were supplied with an isothermal aluminum trunk. With a total gross weight of 8.250 kg, the Ford Cargo 816 is one of the best-selling models in the light segment and also the most powerful in the category. Its 162 hp engine and 550 Nm torque offers agility and great ability to climb slopes with less need to change gears, increasing efficiency and driver comfort.
Ford's light truck also stands out for its modern cabin, equipped with an air-suspension seat with multiple adjustments, as well as electric windows as standard. Among the technology items aimed at safety, it includes electronic speed control, traction control, active engine protection system, ABS brakes with electronic brake distribution, auxiliary upper rear view mirror, passive anti-theft security system (PATS), tachograph with display digital and fault diagnosis system.
“The Cargo 816 is one of Ford's most successful trucks, which has a tradition of robustness and efficiency in different applications. It is used both by public service agencies and fleet owners as well as by self-employed people and rural producers, who recognize their performance in their daily work”, says Carlos Sugisaka, South Regional Sales Manager at Ford Caminhões.
