Research seeks to develop cotton harvester for family farming
A major producer of cotton until the 1980s, the semi-arid region of the northeast seeks to revitalize the cultivation of lint but faces a major obstacle: the cost of harvesting
A total of 21 municipalities in the south and southeast of Mato Grosso will receive technicians from the National Supply Company (Conab), between the 4th and 30th of June, to carry out the first stage of the year's storage census in MT.
Since the beginning of the research, Conab has already carried out 6 stages in Mato Grosso, 4 in 2016 and 2 in 2017. Currently, there are 2.298 storage units registered in the state, with a static capacity of 36,3 million tons. The region that will be enumerated at this stage corresponds to 10,4% of the local static capacity.
The Company updates information to support the government in defining public policies for storage. The survey also serves as a reference for producers and companies operating in the grain sector.
In addition to static capacity, the study collects data on the types of warehouses that exist and the quality of these units. The final stage of the storage census in the state will take place between the months of July and August.
