Firestone, a brand belonging to Bridgestone, is celebrating 95 years of operation in Brazil. Aligning tradition, quality and superior performance, Firestone tires equip commercial vehicles, automobiles, trucks, buses, industrial vehicles and agricultural equipment.

In 1923, a success story began in Brazil. Firestone, a company founded by businessman Harvey Firestone, opened its first office to sell products in the country. Following the constant growth of production in the national automobile industry at the time, the company opened, in 1939, its factory in the city of Santo André (SP) to, the following year, build and vulcanize the first Firestone tire produced in Brazil. In 1988, the company joined the Japanese company Bridgestone and became the largest tire manufacturer in the world.

During all these years, the company has worked to fulfill its mission of “Serving Society with Superior Quality”, offering the best to customers, not only with products, services and technology, but also with its global commitment to social responsibility, “Our Way of Serving”, which is based on three pillars: environment, people and mobility.

Since the factory was built in 1939, more than 385 million Bridgestone and Firestone tires have been produced and constant investments have been made in new technologies to develop tires that offer superior performance, safety and economy, in addition to contributing to the preservation of the environment .

“The hard work of all employees and our dealer network and, above all, the recognition of our customers reinforces Firestone’s tradition and reliability”, comments Fabio Fossen, president of Bridgestone do Brasil. “We are always seeking to inspire users to continue placing their trust in the brand”, adds Fossen.

 Firestone reinforces the Bridgestone portfolio

In 1988, Bridgestone completed the process of acquiring Firestone, which enabled the two companies to combine their experiences and technologies in the constant search for excellence in offering a complete solution in products and services in the tire sector.

Launches – Agrishow 2018

Taking advantage of its participation in the 25th edition of Agrishow, Firestone is carrying out important product launches that offer greater load capacity, exceptional traction and longer useful life, offering the user the best cost-benefit option.

At the company's stand, visitors will be introduced to the new Firestone Performer Row Crop line for sprayers. The product was built with steel belts that allow it to load more cargo at high speeds, saving time and fuel. With the patented Dual Angle Lug design, the contact area is increased and thus provides around 4% additional traction.

Another model that will be presented is the Flotation Implement 600/50-22.5 for use on free axles of agricultural implements and transshipment trailers in sugar cane mills. It is the ideal tire for achieving less soil compaction.

“Firestone’s participation in Agrishow 2018 aims to introduce new product lines to the market, strengthen relationships with customers, improve category knowledge and increase sales in the sector, further strengthening the brand’s positioning,” comments Renato Baroli , Director of Sales and Retail at Bridgestone.

“We are starting the celebrations of Firestone’s 95 years in Brazil during Agrishow. To celebrate this important milestone, the company will introduce new product lines to the market to further strengthen the brand's positioning”, comments Renato Baroli, Director of Sales and Retail at Bridgestone. “Throughout the year, we will have a series of actions and news linked to the company’s anniversary. We look forward to continuing to write Firestone’s story,” adds Baroli.

In Brazil, the manufacturing of Bridgestone and Firestone brand tires is distributed at the Santo André (SP) and Camaçari (BA) units. The company also has two factories producing treads and rubber parts for tire retreading, located in Campinas (SP) and Mafra (SC), employing, in total, around 4 thousand people.
