Syngenta announces purchase of Agro Jangada Ltda
Consolidation of the business depends on approval from the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE)
From August onwards, the Economic Research Institute Foundation (FIPE) will publish the Fipe Price Table for Agricultural Machinery. The survey is the first of its kind in the segment with public access, covering the majority of used tractor and harvester models for sale in the country, and will be updated monthly based on the equipment offered throughout the country. “This is an old agribusiness demand, as until now the market did not have a price reference. The Fipe Agricultural Machinery Price Table fulfills this role”, says professor and economist Sérgio Crispim, who led the Fipe team responsible for the study.
Crispim and his team worked for around three years fine-tuning the quotation research methodology, the composition of weights and parameters, so that the Fipe Agricultural Machinery Price Table reflects the market reality. Average prices at a national level reflect the effects of factors such as regional differences, number of hours worked, options and accessories, condition, among other elements.
Initially, the Table contains the average prices of more than 250 models of agricultural machinery, which represent more than 90% in value of what is transacted in the used segment. Divided into the groups “tractors” and “harvesters”, the Table allows online consultation according to the brand, model and year of manufacture of the equipment. Machines with less commercial appeal and new models will gradually be included.
Professor Sérgio Crispim recalls that most of the sales of used agricultural machinery take place on specialized websites and at dealerships in the segment. For these players, as well as insurance companies and financial agents, the new Table should gain the same importance and weight as the well-known and traditional “Fipe Table” for vehicles. “We are offering a tool that will contribute to the organization of the segment, helping it to develop and grow even further”, he predicts.
