Epagri's report indicates a decline in planted area and productivity, while corn advances and apples are expected to see a strong recovery.
Professionals from Guatemala, Mexico, Paraguay, Germany, the Netherlands, and various regions of Brazil participated last week in the Field Day promoted by East-West Seed. The event took place at the company's Experimental Station in Bragança Paulista (SP), and highlighted the brand's main product launches and new technologies focused on vegetable production.
At the opening, Fabricio Benatti, president of East-West Seed in Latin America, reinforced the company's commitment to small producers, offering technical knowledge and solutions that contribute to increased productivity. Maya Muller, global communications manager from the Netherlands, also highlighted the strategic importance of the Brazilian market for the company.
“We wake up every day thinking about producing materials with the best technologies and how to deliver them on time. We are always available to listen to our clients and partners, with the goal of improving every day,” said Maya.
In total, 120 participants got a close look at the new varieties from East-West Seed. Highlights included Gyottone, Napolitano, Soberano, Paraty, Évora, and Ibiza tomatoes; Bia, Daniele, and Rubra lettuces; Sabrosa and Vega papayas; Dallas onions; and Star Red watermelons, in addition to other cultivars developed to meet different market niches and growing conditions.
