Agreement aims to guarantee resources for expansion and integration of actions aimed at the National Climate Risk Agricultural Zoning Program
The climate is a fundamental variable in the day-to-day life of agribusiness. Planning, development and harvesting of crops depend directly on climatic conditions. With technological evolution, tools such as weather radars are allies of small and medium producers, and also of large companies. “Connected to other data acquisition systems, meteorological radars help monitor rainfall in real time, allowing it to be monitored, in addition to obtaining its distribution plot by plot, with spatial resolution of up to 100 meters”, says the Agroclima Product Manager PRO, from Climatempo, João Castro.
Since last year, Climatempo, the country's private meteorology company, has been the only one in Brazil to offer plot-by-plot rainfall information measured by meteorological radar. Radar Agro, already integrated with Agroclima PRO, an agrometeorology 4.0 service, measures the volume of rainfall within a radius of up to 100 kilometers.
The equipment is developed with 100% Brazilian technology, using some imported components. Installed at a point on the farm, in a fixed position, the Radar emits electromagnetic pulses in all directions and it is possible to program 360º rotations every minute or according to need, based on consultancy from Climatempo professionals.
“We offer real-time monitoring of rain conditions in practically the entire state of São Paulo, with the possibility of integrating radar images with our alert system. Furthermore, our system allows the user to monitor the temporal evolution of rainfall distribution throughout the harvest on the farm”, says Castro.
The Radar Agro service is contracted per monitored area, with a related annual cost. The solution is available both for individuals and for the acquisition of large organizations, cooperatives and other institutions in the segment. “We have the possibility of delivering this information to the user directly through the Agroclima PRO decision support platform or via WMS link (standard protocol for georeferenced images) so that the images can be integrated into any company's internal system”, explains the Product Manager .
