Research to update information regarding the sugar cane harvest in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul has already begun. During this week, technicians from the National Supply Company (Conab) are visiting the productive fields to collect data regarding the closure of the 2020/21 harvest and grass production indicators for the 2021/22 harvest. All work follows safety protocols in relation to COVID-19, with the use of masks, alcohol gel and social distancing.

In addition to visiting the fields, the research is also carried out with registered informants and with the sugar and ethanol production industries in the state. The objective is to collect information on investments made and planned in the fields of production, occurrence and control of pests and diseases, climate behavior and its effects on sugarcane fields and other production and marketing indices.

The results of this research will be published in May, along with information collected in other sugarcane producing states, on the Conab Portal and on official social media channels.
