Afternoon de Campo addresses winter and stone fruit crops

Pass on knowledge and information about winter crops and stone fruit. This is the purpose of the Field Afternoon that will be held next Friday (17/11), starting at 13:30 pm, at the State Center for Diagnosis and Research in Fruit Growing (Cefruti) in Veranópolis, in Serra Gaúcha.

The event is aimed at rural producers, technicians, as well as the entire community in the region and is held by the Regional Agricultural Cooperative of Campos Novos (Copercampos), in partnership with the Department of Agricultural Diagnosis and Research (DDPA) of the Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock , Sustainable Production and Irrigation (Seapi).

Winter crops, such as wheat and canola, and their characteristics will be presented, as well as demonstrations of phytosanitary treatments. In terms of stone fruit trees, potential cultivars for planting peach, plum and nectarine trees will be discussed, in addition to the evaluation of potential rootstocks for the crops, and management techniques aimed at the practice of chemical thinning and pest control.
