By using formulations from Mosaic Fertilizers, soybean farmers from Itapeva (SP) and Nepomuceno (MG) increased the productivity of their crops by more than 100% in the 2022/2023 harvest. The results were confirmed in the latest edition of the National Challenge for Maximum Soy Productivity, by the Brazilian Soy Strategic Committee (CESB), which had more than 6.500 participants and carried out around 750 audits.

The national champion in the Irrigated Crop category, from Itapeva (SP) harvested 111,75 bags/hectare (sc/ha) of soybeans in the period. The average productivity in the State is 58,15 sc/ha, while in Brazil it is 57,41 sc/ha, that is, production growth reached up to 95%. In the Dry Farming category, the farmer from Nepomuceno (MG) had a productivity of 134,46 sc/ha, 134% higher than the average for crops in Minas Gerais (60,15 sc/ha) and national crops (57,41 sc/ha).

“The results of this year's champions prove that management carried out with dedication and technology generates healthy and fertile soils for high productivity ceilings”, says Filipe Miranda, the company's Product Manager. “In line with our ESG strategy, the solutions contribute to the expansion of more sustainable agricultural systems adapted to climate change and food demand scenarios.”

Microessentials

One of Mosaic Fertilizers' solutions used in soybean cultivation was MicroEssentials, which was developed using an exclusive process patented by the company and features Fusion technology, which increases the efficiency of nutrient absorption by plants. This solution brings together, in a single granule, crucial nutrients for soybean production: High-solubility phosphorus, responsible for strengthening the root and improving flower and seed development, and two forms of Sulfur, which acts on the protein and amino acid chain. responsible for filling the grains. The Nitrogen present in the formula is essential in the production of chlorophyll and is distributed throughout the plant's entire cycle, ensuring healthier green leaves and plants more tolerant to environmental stress.

“Farmers are really looking for technologies that provide returns. Our research from 2009 to 2018 in 418 demonstration fields, in the case of cerrado soybeans, and 714 demonstration fields, in southern soybeans, showed that areas fertilized with MicroEssentials had an increase of up to 3,2 bags per hectare in soybeans, in fields distributed across the main Crop planting states. Over the years of MicroEssentials, we have treated more than 40 million hectares”, says Miranda.
