The Fertilizer Purchasing Power Index (IPCF) for April closed at 0,96, compared to 0,97 in March. The scenario is the most favorable in the last 22 months for rural producers, since the lower the indicator, the better the exchange ratio – and reveals good profitability for rural producers.

Following the previous months, fertilizer was the factor that most impacted the composition of the index, with an average drop of approximately 7%, led by simple superphosphate and followed by monoammonium phosphate, potassium chloride and urea. The correction in the price of fertilizers is due to the postponement of the harvest in the Northern and Southern Hemispheres.

Commodities, in turn, registered an average increase of 1,7% compared to March, reflecting the market's concern about sugar production on the global stage. Countries such as China, Thailand, India and Europe faced production problems for this commodity, while Brazil awaits the evolution of the harvest.

On the other hand, as a result of the entry of a record Brazilian soybean harvest, the good prospects for the Brazilian off-season and the beginning of soybean and corn planting in the United States, this led to an increase in the supply of many products on the market.

Agribusiness' attention continues to be focused on the Brazilian grain harvest. With the planting period approaching in the national market, the concern turns to the logistical concentration in supply, from ports, manufacturing plants to the end user.
