Fertilizer deliveries grow 2,7% in August 2025

Fertilizer deliveries to the Brazilian market totaled 5,25 million tons in August 2025, a 2,7% increase compared to the same month of the previous year, when 5,11 million tons were sold, according to the National Association for the Diffusion of Fertilizers (Anda). In the accumulated period from January to August, deliveries reached 30,55 million tons, a 9,3% increase compared to the same period in 2024, when the total was 27,96 million tons. 

The state of Mato Grosso maintained its leadership in consumption, with a 22,3% share of the national total, equivalent to 6,81 million tons. Following are Paraná (4,12 million), São Paulo (3,28 million), Goiás (2,93 million), Rio Grande do Sul (2,78 million), Minas Gerais (2,65 million), and Bahia (2,04 million). 

National production of intermediate fertilizers ended August 2025 at 699 tons, registering a growth of 7,1% compared to the same month of 2024. In the accumulated total for the first eight months, the volume reached 4,86 million tons, an increase of 6,7% compared to the 4,55 million tons in the same period of 2024. 

Imports also continued to rise. In August, 4,60 million tons entered the country, an increase of 6,5% compared to the same period of the previous year. From January to August, total imports reached 27,58 million tons, an expansion of 11,1% compared to the 24,83 million tons in the same period of 2024. 

The Port of Paranaguá has consolidated itself as the main entry point for the input, with seven million tons imported during the period, an 11,4% increase compared to 2024 (6,36 million tons). The terminal accounted for 25,7% of the total from all ports, according to the Union of the Fertilizer and Agricultural Correctives Industry in the State of São Paulo and the Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services.
