According to data from the National Association for the Diffusion of Fertilizers (Anda), deliveries of fertilizers to the Brazilian market ended June 2023 with 4,11 million tons, meaning growth of 15,7% compared to 3,55 million tons of the same month of 2022. In the first half of the year, 18,61 million tons were recorded, an increase of 2,4% compared to the 18,18 million tons for the same period in 2022.
Mato Grosso, leader in deliveries, concentrated the largest volume in the first six months of this year (25,2%), with 4,69 million tons. Paraná (2,34 million), Goiás (2,09 million), São Paulo (1,67 million), Rio Grande do Sul (1,62 million) and Minas Gerais (1,43 million) follow.
National production of intermediate fertilizers ended June 2023 with 454 thousand tons, representing a reduction of 17,9% compared to the same month in 2022. In the first half of the year, the total was 3,16 million tons, a drop of 17 % compared to 3,81 million tons in the same period in 2022.
Imports of intermediate fertilizers reached 3,12 million tons in June, a drop of 7,6%. In the first half of the year, the total was 17,21 million tons, meaning a reduction of 3,3% compared to the same period in 2022, when 17,80 million tons were recorded.
At the port of Paranaguá, the main entry point for fertilizers, 4,34 million tons entered from January to June, indicating a reduction of 20,6% compared to 2022, when 5,47 million tons were unloaded. The terminal represented 25,2% of the total of all ports
