The National Association for the Diffusion of Fertilizers (Anda) indicates that fertilizer deliveries to the Brazilian market, from January to September 2022, were 30,101 million tons, a reduction of 10,5% compared to the 33,633 million tons recorded in the same period last year.

In the month of September, 4.191 million tons were delivered, registering a reduction of 12,6% compared to the same month in 2021, when 4.794 million tons were recorded.

The State of Mato Grosso, leader in deliveries to the market, concentrated the largest volume in the period analyzed (23,8%), reaching 7.150 million tons. They are followed by: Goiás (3.324 thousand), Paraná (3.252 thousand), São Paulo (3.208 thousand) and Minas Gerais (2.688 thousand).

Fertilizer imports continue to arrive in Brazil, although at a different pace than usual, says Anda. Geopolitical crises may have anticipated the purchasing movement to prevent shortages.

National Production

National production of intermediate fertilizers ended September 2022 with 564 thousand tons, representing a drop of 10,9%, compared to the same month in 2021. In the accumulated period from January to September 2022, there were 5.626 million tons, with an increase 6,7% compared to the same period last year, when 5.274 million tons were produced.
