Corn farmers need more fertilizer annually
Research highlights increased demand due to climate change and productivity
Fendt presented the AGCO Power Core75 engine to the Expodireto Cotrijal audience. Manufactured by AGCO Power, the engine equips the Fendt 700 Vario Gen7 tractors and stands out for its performance at low speeds, fuel economy and reliability.
The equipment was awarded Engine of the Year at the 2023 Diesel Progress Summit Awards and can operate with alternative fuels, including Green Diesel (HVO), reducing up to 75% of CO2 emissions.
According to Fernando Silva, commercial coordinator at AGCO Power, CORE75 reflects the decarbonization trend in the agricultural sector.
"The CORE platform allows the use of fuels such as hydrogen, ethanol, methanol and biogas, promoting versatility in equipment power and advanced emissions control," he explains. The model is AGCO's first in Brazil to feature this technology.
With 7,5 liters, 223 kW of power and 1450 Nm of torque, the Core75 reaches its maximum power at 1300 RPM, optimizing fuel consumption. Its simplified design, with fewer parts, increases reliability and facilitates maintenance. The engine also features an advanced emissions aftertreatment (EAT) system, eliminating the need for exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) and allowing remanufacturing after its use cycle.
Fendt highlighted the 18-row Fendt Momentum planter. The equipment features technologies that ensure uniform planting on flat or uneven terrain. The Smart Frame system automatically adjusts comb pressure, while Wing Flex allows a 40° angle to adapt to the soil. The Weight Transfer function distributes the machine's central weight to the side modules, increasing seed emergence by 7%. With Delta Force technology, the planter makes up to five adjustments per second to optimize the furrow. In transport, its width of 3,6 meters is the smallest in the category.
In turn, the Fendt 728 Vario Gen7 (click here) stands out for its VarioDrive transmission, which operates independently on the axles, adjusting power according to demand. The Dynamic Performance system releases up to 20 extra hp for auxiliary demands.
Another model present is the Fendt Vario 942 G7 (click here). Equipped with a six-cylinder MAN engine and Fendt iD technology, it has high torque at low revs, combining performance with fuel efficiency. The VarioDrive CVT transmission system adjusts power between the front and rear axles for greater stability. This model also has a self-cleaning air filter and a reversible fan to reduce maintenance downtime.
