Massey Ferguson unveils tractor that completed desert rally at Agritechnica 2025
Adapted agricultural model becomes the first tractor in history to complete the test.
Fendt presents the new generation of the 1000 Vario series at Agritechnica. The machines are available with power options ranging from 426 to 550 hp, new lighting features, a redesigned cab, and technologies focused on fuel economy.
The line includes four models: Fendt 1040, 1044, 1048 and 1052 Vario. All feature the DynamicPerformance (DP) system, which delivers up to 30 hp of additional power dynamically, according to the demands of the implements or operating conditions.
The MAN engine, already compatible with HVO100 and other fuels according to the DIN 15940 standard, has received technical updates that extend the transmission oil change interval from 2.000 to 4.000 hours. This reduces maintenance costs. The low-speed Fendt iD concept allows for high torque with lower fuel consumption. The top-of-the-line model, the Fendt 1052, delivers 2.650 Nm of torque from 1.150 rpm and reaches 60 km/h at just 1.450 rpm.
One of the highlights of the new generation is the UltraVision lighting system. With up to 120.500 lumens, it allows for efficient work at night. The LED headlights have individual adjustment in five levels and customizable light profiles. The GroundVision system illuminates the area behind the tractor, facilitating the attachment of implements in the dark.
The cabin received a new generation of seats with electric adjustments, heating, climate control, four-way lumbar support, a massage function with three programs, and position memory. The air conditioning system is automatic, and there is a new 12-liter refrigerator. Apple CarPlay will be integrated into the FendtONE system starting in 2026.
Automatic cleaning of the engine and cabin air filters is another new feature. The system uses vacuum and a cyclonic separator to maintain air quality in conditions of intense dust, such as when operating balers or during harvesting in dry weather.
The Fendt 1000 Vario Gen4 also features a single-stage VarioDrive transmission, which distributes power independently between the axles. This eliminates the need for gear changes or manual 4x4 engagement. The "pull-in turn" effect allows for tighter turns by engaging the front axle during the maneuver.
The line also innovates with the possibility of limiting the tractor's power according to the implement. This avoids excessive fuel consumption and equipment wear in tasks that do not require the engine's full power.
In terms of hydraulics, the capacity reaches 430 liters/minute with a dual pump system. There are six rear connections and one front connection. The model supports up to 7 tons of payload with approval for 50 km/h, or 4 tons for 60 km/h. The Load Sensing system can be equipped with FFC couplings, which reduce leaks and dirt ingress.
The tractor offers a variety of tire options, including dual metric and Row Crop versions. The new generation comes standard with a dual wheel hub, which transmits power better and reduces slippage. The VarioGrip tire inflation system is available for all axle types and configurations.
For activities outside of agriculture, such as construction, urban services, or forestry, the model offers reverse driving control, a heated laminated safety windshield, a right-side wiper, and coordinated suspension. The new cab ensures visibility, comfort, and safety for the operator.
