The history of soybeans in Brazil began a century ago, in 1924, when the first seeds were brought and cultivated in the country. However, it was in the 70s that soybean production received a significant boost and became the main crop of national agribusiness, increasing from 1.5 million tons to more than 15 million tons in 1979. Today, Brazil is one of the largest producers and exporters of soybeans, with 12,66 million hectares cultivated and a production that exceeded 147 million tons in the last harvest.

Between November 29 and December 8, in Santa Rosa, Rio Grande do Sul, during Fenasoja, the historic date of 100 years since the arrival of soybeans in Brazil, brought by pastor Albert Lehenbauer, will be celebrated. The idea is to transform the event into a milestone to celebrate the legacy of soybeans, from their arrival to their transformative role in the economy, agronomy and social aspects of the country. “Soybeans are much more than an agricultural product: they symbolize innovation, resilience and Brazil's ability to reinvent itself and grow sustainably,” says the president of Fenasoja 2024, Dário Germano (pictured, left).

Aware of the importance of this date for the history of Brazilian agriculture, LS Tractor, a South Korean tractor manufacturer, has already planned its participation in this historic edition of Fenasoja. In partnership with Coletto Máquinas, headquartered in Tuparendi (RS), LS Tractor's dealership for the northwest region of the state, the brand will be exhibiting its main products. Among them, the renowned Plus series tractors stand out, available in 80, 90 and 105 hp versions. These models introduced an innovative transmission technology to Brazil that transformed the sector. In addition, they have an original factory cabin, ensuring a high standard of comfort for operators.

The dealership's director, Irineu Hirt (pictured, center), highlights that the Plus models have pleased producers due to their work capacity. Equipped with a 4-cylinder Perkins engine, LS transmission with synchronized reverse and a high-capacity hydraulic system, these tractors serve the sector well. In addition, LS Tractor's exclusive electronic engine protection offers greater safety and a longer service life for the equipment. Another model that the brand is presenting at this edition of Fenasoja 2024 is the H145 tractor.

“These mid-sized tractors are ideal for conditions that require high performance in their traction capacity, typical for this activity in soybean planting in our region. With great robustness and operational aggressiveness, necessary for this activity. We offer two options for this model, one with a 12x12 mechanical transmission and another with a 24x24 Power Shuttle transmission, which meets the demands of soybean producers very well,” highlights Irineu.

According to him, LS Tractor has the exact combination of the best technology, robustness and operational sustainability, which makes these machines a reliable and affordable choice for different sizes of producers looking to increase efficiency and profitability.

LS Tractor sales manager Deberton Fracaro (pictured, right) emphasizes that the company could not miss this event. “Soybeans have a much broader meaning than simply planting and harvesting a crop. Soybeans were the lever that changed the Brazilian agribusiness scenario as a whole. It led to the economic expansion of the sector by opening up new agricultural frontiers, the emergence and strengthening of research centers, new businesses and the development of sustainable tropical agriculture, leading Brazil to occupy a prominent place in the supply of this food to the world. So, it is necessary to celebrate. And we, as an agricultural machinery company, are part of this context, and we feel it is our duty to participate in this celebration with the best that is produced in our factory”, he concludes.
