This Thursday (16/12), Farsul presented Farsul Big Data, an agribusiness database with free access. The content is available on the Farsul website. The material was prepared by the Federation's Economic Advisory and has more than 8 million pieces of data that can be consulted by anyone.

According to Farsul's Chief Economist, Antônio da Luz, Farsul Big Data emerged from the daily demand for requests for economic data. Seeking to best respond to these requests, Farsul, through its Economic Advisory, organized this information in a single environment. Luz highlighted the work to build Farsul Big Data. “We are going to present a very large effort that we started in 2020,” he said. "We had and have the intention of having the largest freely available agribusiness database in Brazil. I imagine that we are already releasing the largest in the country, but it will also be a living organism", declared Luz when informing that the content , in addition to being updated regularly, will be expanded.

From national and international sources, the data is compiled to serve a heterogeneous audience made up of rural producers, union leaders, academic researchers and journalists. Products developed by the Economic Advisory team are also available, such as Agribusiness Inflation Indices.

Divided into three sections, Farsul Big Data brings the figures for Agriculture, Livestock and Economic Situation in historical series. Enabling not only simple consultations, but allowing analyzes and comparisons to be carried out that can assist in the production of research and reports, collaborate in the construction of negotiations between unions and city halls and, above all, be a powerful management tool for rural producers.

At the launch, the president of Farsul, Gedeão Pereira, highlighted the usefulness of the database for the activities of journalists who participated in the event. "It will make your work much easier as, when you want, you will be able to request data inherent to our activity. This data will always be updated and available. We really think that this is an extraordinary work that can help us all. Use and abuse this material We don't see anything similar in our country in terms of agribusiness that can present this amount of data so clearly, with so much evidence", he highlighted.
