Orange production in the citrus belt of São Paulo and Triângulo/Sudoeste Mineiro for the 2024/25 harvest is estimated at 223,14 million 40,8 kg boxes, according to the report by the Economic Department of the Federation of Agriculture and Livestock of the State of São Paulo (Faesp), based on data from Fundecitrus. This number is 3,4% higher than the September estimate, but 27,4% lower than the results of the previous harvest.

Above-average rainfall, recorded since October 2024, revitalized the orchards and contributed to increased productivity. The average production per hectare was revised to 664 boxes, indicating a 27,2% drop compared to the previous cycle. The average weight of the fruits also showed a slight recovery, reaching 156 grams.

Despite the partial recovery, factors such as greening and mechanization continue to negatively impact the fruit drop rate, which was revised from 17,1% to 19%. By November, 80% of the crop had been harvested, with emphasis on early varieties, which reached 97% harvest.
