The corn market is not easy in the state of Paraná. In Maringá and Sertanópolis, there are values quoted at R$96 with buyers holding prices, with no reported deals.

According to the forecast of Tarken, a Brazilian agritech that offers a marketplace for grain trading, the situation is delicate due to the few grain offers.

“There are few corn offers in the states of Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul, since even with the drop in prices, the bag of corn is still cut at around R$ 100”, says analyst Malu Fernandes.

In Porto Alegre, in Rio Grande do Sul, the price reaches R$99,07, and in Chapecó, Santa Catarina it is in the range of R$97 per bag of grain.

In the state of São Paulo, in the region of Itaberá and Itapeva, customers claim to get corn for just R$99. Demand is also reported in Bariri, in the same state, for corn priced at R$104 per bag of grain.

Rain delays harvest

According to Lopes, the expectation is that the continuation of rain until next week will delay the start of the soybean and corn harvest by a few more days.

The volume of negotiations in Minas Gerais remains low, with occasional offers and corn supply practically at its limit. This is what Tarken analyst Bernardo Lopes says.

“This is due to the enormous amount of rain in the vast majority of micro-regions in the state. While the volume of corn that will be harvested in mid-March is not available, buyers continue to look for lots that are valued,” he explains.

The main selling regions are in the Triângulo Mineiro and Northwest of Minas, with Ibiá reinforcing sales at R$ 93 for buyers from Minas Central. Unaí and Buritis have reported business departures to Ponte Nova and Montes Claros.
