Embrapa selects scholarship holder for project on carbon balance in agricultural production

Embrapa Digital Agriculture (Campinas, SP) is selecting a doctorate-level scholarship holder to work on the project “Carbon balance and footprint in soybean, corn and sugarcane production: metrics, tools and protocols for the tropical and subtropical environment -tropical in Brazilian territory”. The Innovation Stimulation Grant, worth R$6.000,00 per month, is offered by the Arthur Bernardes Foundation (Funarbe). Registration closes on March 1st and must be completed on the foundation's website. The candidate must have a doctorate degree in the area of ​​project execution with a minimum proven professional experience of five years in research, development or innovation activities. Requirements for the vacancy are experience in calibrating and applying biophysical models for the development and growth of agricultural crops, as well as advanced knowledge in organizing and manipulating data and post-processing results, preferably in programming in the R language.

Among other activities, the fellow will work on developing routines to calibrate and validate a biophysical model to determine the primary productivity of crops with data from experimental sites and yield data at the field level. He will also monitor the coupling of the biophysical model with a simulation model of the dynamics of organic carbon in the soil and prepare reports and scientific articles.

The scholarship is expected to last 12 months. The selection process will be carried out through the analysis of curricular information and an interview.
