PR 2024/25 Harvest: rains impact crops in the state
High precipitation volumes restored soil moisture, but also caused localized problems
The public offering notice is now open for producers interested in multiplying basic materials of Embrapa's BRS F21 potato cultivar. Registrations must be made by 17:10 p.m. on January 2025, 08, via email to elbio.cardoso@embrapa.br with the subject “Technological Offer Notice No. 2024/XNUMX”.
Five lots of 400 genetic seeds of the BRS F21 cultivar are being made available, at a price of R$240 each. The selected producers may purchase only one lot and express interest in remaining lots, if any.
To participate in the process, producers must have a National Seed and Seedling Registry (Renasem) with the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa). Producers who send an email and meet the specifications of the notice will be considered, in order of receipt, until the lots are exhausted. The notification of the selected candidates will be made by email starting on January 15th.
Due to its characteristics, such as adequate dry matter (21%) and sugar (0,08%) levels and format, BRS F21 is suitable for processing in the form of chips/straw, presenting high industrial yield and high quality of the final product. The material has been and continues to be tested with the industry and should be launched in the second half of 2025, under the trade name “Braschips”. The cultivar also has greater hardiness than its main competitors, including Atlantic, facilitating cultivation by small farmers.
