Embrapa launches six innovations at Show Rural Coopavel

The launch ceremony for Embrapa's technologies at the Coopavel Rural Show, held in Cascavel (PR), will be held on February 11, at 10 am, at the Company's Technology Showcase. Innovations include: two soybean cultivars (BRS 2361 I2X and BRS 2058 I2X), two bean cultivars (BRS FC422 and BRS FP417) and the basic online soybean production course. 

Soybean BRS 2361 I2X - this is a transgenic soybean with Intacta2 Xtend (I2X) technology, which adds tolerance to the herbicides glyphosate and dicamba and resistance to the main soybean caterpillars. Developed by Embrapa Soja and Fundação Meridional, it is in the maturity group 6.1, with a 125-day cycle, and has greater production potential at altitudes above 600m in the REC 201 macroregion of the states of Paraná and São Paulo. It is resistant to stem canker, root rot, and Phytophthora, and bacterial pustule and moderate resistance to frogeye spot. It also allows early sowing, making it possible to sow the second-crop corn in the best planting “window”, in the region where the cultivar is indicated.

Soybean BRS 2058 I2X – developed by Embrapa Soja and Fundação Meridional, with I2X technology, is from maturity group 5.8, with a cycle of 119 days. It presents excellent yield and is resistant to stem canker, root rot and Phytophthora; bacterial pustule and moderate resistance to frogeye leaf spot and root-knot nematode M. javanica. It performs best at altitudes above 600 m. It is recommended for Rio Grande do Sul (REC 102 and 103), Santa Catarina (REC 102 and 103), Paraná (REC 102 and 103) and São Paulo (REC 103).

BRS FC422 Beans - Embrapa Rice and Beans and partners are launching the BRS FC422 carioca bean cultivar. This cultivar stands out for its high production potential combined with moderate resistance to fusarium wilt and anthracnose, also enabling its use in old areas of cultivation under central pivots. This launch is registered for the states of AL, BA, CE, ES, GO, MA, MG, MS, MT, PB, PE, PI, PR, RJ, RN, RS, SC, SE, SP, TO and DF and will be sold exclusively by the seed partners who helped develop this product.

BRS FP417 Bean - is a common bean cultivar from the commercial black group that stands out for its resistance to several diseases, presenting excellent levels of resistance to anthracnose and fusarium wilt, and intermediate resistance to common bacterial blight and curtabacterium wilt. In addition, it presents high productivity, excellent commercial grain quality, upright architecture and resistance to lodging.

Basic Online Soybean Production Course - Embrapa Soja launches the Course on the E-Campo Embrapa platform, containing guidelines on soybean cultivation. With objective language, the course has five modules that cover topics such as cultivar selection, soil preparation, sowing, pest and disease control, and harvesting. Aimed at rural producers, technicians, and students, the course aims to train participants, based on knowledge about all stages of legume production, from crop planning to grain harvesting. 

Embrapa and Coopavel Partnership - Embrapa Soja and Cooperativa Coopavel will also launch Azoscoop, an inoculant for corn crops with strains CNPSo 2083 (=Ab-V5) and CNPSo 2084 (=Ab-V6) of Brazilian Azospirillum in a formulation that provides a productive gain for corn and a reduction in the use of nitrogen topdressing. The inoculant allows the plant to make better use of the nitrogen from the fertilizer, mainly by promoting root growth. This will have positive economic impacts on corn crops, with lower costs for nitrogen fertilization and also environmental impacts, contributing to the mitigation of greenhouse gas emissions.
