The Brazilian Agricultural Research Company (Embrapa), linked to the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (Mapa) will present almost 31 innovations at the 04st edition of the Rural Coopavel Show, which will be held from February 08th to 50th, in Cascavel (PR). technological technologies and two launches: Fast-K, a soybean nutritional diagnosis method carried out in the field and BRS FP403, a high-yielding black bean cultivar.

Embrapa will be present at the Rural Show through 10 research units (Embrapa Rice and Beans, Embrapa Clima Temperado, Embrapa Beef Cattle, Embrapa Dairy Cattle, Embrapa Instrumentation, Embrapa Cassava and Fruit Culture, Embrapa Pantanal, Embrapa Genetic Resources and Biotechnology, Embrapa Soy and Embrapa Swine and Poultry). Innovations bring improvements to segments, such as: animal production, genetics, sustainable production systems for grains, vegetables, fruits, among others. The technologies will be presented in three different environments at Casa da Embrapa, in the Technologies Showcase and in the Agroecology Technology Showcase "Vilson Nilson Redel".

Furthermore, participants will be able to visit the Embrapa Bookstore, which will sell around 160 titles on different themes at affordable prices. Visitors will also be able to interact with Embrapa researchers at the Knowledge Station, where 35 lectures will be held on seven different topics.

RELEASES Fast-K - field potassium assessment method for soybean crops

Potassium (K) is the second most demanded nutrient and also the second most exported by soybean crops. This high export (around 20 kg/ha of K2O for each ton of grain) can lead to a reduction in the availability of K in the soil, if producers do not reapply quantities of potassium fertilizers compatible with those exported. To improve the nutritional management of the crop, Embrapa developed a quick tool for evaluating the K content in soybean leaves, which is easy to use and interpret and allows the producer time to make decisions regarding the use of agricultural inputs. in order to avoid losses and guarantee productivity.

The “Method for determining foliar potassium (K) concentration under field conditions in soybean crops” eliminates the use of laboratory techniques for foliar diagnosis (standard method), eliminating the possibility of a delay between sampling and sample preparation in the laboratory and issuing the result, which can make decision-making difficult, in many cases making correction of the deficiency late.

Black bean beans BRS FP403

It is a high-yielding cultivar, with a potential of 4,7 kilos per hectare. It has a normal growth cycle (85-95 days) and is recommended for cultivation in 19 Brazilian states. BRS FP403 has a good root architecture with a very vigorous root system and is tolerant to fusarium wilt and dry root rot. Its grains are large and have high industrial quality. It has plants with a semi-prostrate shape and insertion of pods high in relation to the ground, providing adaptation to direct mechanical harvesting.
