Registration is open for the 2023 edition of the Virtual Basic Course on Sparkling Wine Making promoted by Embrapa Uva e Vinho (Bento Gonçalves). Classes start on November 16th and registrations can be made until 15/11, at the link: www.embrapa.br/e-campo/curso-de-elaboracao-de-espumantes-2023. Places are limited.

In addition to the materials available in the virtual environment, researcher Giuliano Elias Pereira and winemaker João Carlos Taffarel, who will be the training instructors, will promote three synchronous meetings to delve deeper into some concepts and clarify participants' doubts.

The virtual sparkling wine production course is organized into three modules.

The first aims to present general aspects of Brazilian legislation and viticulture aimed at the production of sparkling wines.

The second addresses the different stages that make up the different processes for producing sparkling wines using the Asti (muscatel), Charmat, Champenoise and Ancestral methods.

The third and final module is dedicated to sensory analysis, food pairing and presentation of the Official Brazilian Sparkling Wine Cup, developed in a partnership between the Brazilian Enology Association (ABE), Cristallerie Strauss and Embrapa Uva e Vinho.

The course lasts a total of 16 hours, from November 16th to December 08th. During the training, in addition to prepared publications and instructional videos, participants will be able to interact with researchers and fellow students during meetings or via chat. After the course ends, participants will be able to continue accessing the material.

The registration fee is R$350,00 and participants who complete the modules receive a certificate issued by Embrapa.
