Embrapa Western Amazon opens applications for scientific initiation scholarships

Embrapa Amazônia Oeste has released a notice to select scholarship holders for reserve registration for the Institutional Scientific Initiation Scholarship Program, for the period 2020-2021. Students studying an undergraduate or technological course in areas compatible with the research areas listed in the notice, regularly enrolled in public or private institutions located in the metropolitan region of Manaus, are eligible to participate in the selection process. Registration can be made until May 29th, using the forms available on the website. website.

Embrapa Western Amazon's scientific initiation program has support from the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq), through the Institutional Scientific Initiation Scholarship Program (PIBIC) and the Amazonas State Research Support Foundation (Fapeam ), through the Amazonas Scientific Initiation Support Program (PAIC).

The notice, available on the Embrapa Amazônia Oeste website, contains all the information for candidates, with the rules and guidelines for the selection process. The awarded students will have the opportunity to be guided by master or doctorate researchers to develop a project, along the lines of scientific initiation, within lines of research developed by the institution. The Scientific Initiation Program is an instrument that allows undergraduate students to be introduced into scientific research, with the aim of putting the student in greater contact with research, contributing to the student's training.

The research areas covered in the notice are the following: Agricultural entomology; Soil science; Rural constructions; Entomology; Fish nutrition and health; Microbiology; Entomology/Pollination; Tambaqui reproduction; Agricultural microbiology; Genetic resources, Phytotechnics in floodplain and terra firma environments; Fish nutrition; Agroecology; Rural economy and agribusiness; Graphic design, communication, advertising and marketing; Geotechnologies applied to the management of forest resources; Programming for WEB and/or mobile devices, Computational intelligence, Data science and geoprocessing; Management, Phytotechnics, Plant nutrition, Seedling production, Statistics; Plant genetic improvement / Plant tissue culture / Plant reproduction; and Agroforestry.
