Multinational opens unit in Santa Maria (RS) for research and development of new rice cultivars
Municipal schools in Nova Santa Rosa and Terra Roxa, cities in the western region of the State of Paraná, participated in the last few days of DuPont Escola Program events, carried out by the regional company I.RIEDI, a distributor of agricultural inputs, in partnership with the company DuPont Protection of Crops. On the occasion, the companies delivered bicycles to the authors of the best texts and drawings produced by students based on the theme My Hero, the Farmer.
In the city of Santa Rosa, the winning students study at Escola Municipal Getúlio Vargas. They are: Djuliana Zimmermann, Emily Luisa Allebrant, Felipe Sabino de Carvalho, Gabriel dos Santos Fraz, Ketlen Noemi Fiole Fidler and Miguel F. Da Silva.
In Terra Roxa, the recipients were Faram Allah Burham Taha, Ana Julia Scarpeta, Guilherme Passos, Carolyne Bandeira da Silva, Nicolas Henrico Pejorar, Vinicius Barzaghe, students from Escola Municipal Maxmirian Bárbara Gaspar Silva.
A socio-environmental platform program Safety and Health in the Field, sponsored by DuPont and with national coverage, DuPont Escola is aimed at students and educators in rural schools. The initiative encourages the appreciation of agriculture and agro-environmental sustainability.
The agenda of events covers lectures, debates, exhibitions, thematic video screenings, educational activities and games and competitions from the project's official magazine, called Meu Hérói, o Agricultor.
In 2016, the DuPont School Program's central themes are the rational use of water and energy and clean and sustainable energy matrices, according to DuPont's general manager of Product Safety and Environment, Felipe Ramos.
The socio-environmental platform Safety and Health in the Field It is also made up of four other projects: DuPont Women in the Field, DuPont University, DuPont Correct and Safe Use and DuPont Nature. According to DuPont, this set of programs has already benefited more than 1,3 million people in recent years, in the main agricultural regions of Brazil.
DuPont's commercial representative, Vanderlei Mayer, coordinated the work carried out at the two events in western Paraná.
