DuPont Crop Protection displays on its channel YouTube the first video, in a series of five, with an emphasis on the association between Bt soybeans and the DuPont Dermacor seed treatment insecticide. The debut material provides information about Dermacor's action on the uniformity of the crop stand, in the 2015-16 and 2016-17 harvests. According to DuPont, Bt soybean crops treated with Dermacor recorded a plant protection rate 10% higher than the producer's standard treatment.
According to Érico Cardoso, marketing manager for seed treatment at DuPont, the five episodes of the series, presented by the character “Dr. DuPont”, summarize the set of benefits and consistency of the Dermacor seed treatment insecticide in protecting Bt soybeans against foliar and soil pests.
“The association between Dermacor technology and Bt soybean technology protects seedlings throughout the process of germination, emergence and establishment of the crop stand, in addition to complementing the effectiveness of features of genetically modified organisms available on the national market”, explains Cardoso.
The remaining videos will go live in the next few days and deal with topics such as maximizing productivity and controlling elasmo, coró and Spodoptera frugiperda. According to DuPont, these pests cause damage to Bt soybean crops, especially if the producer does not carry out initial treatment of the crop.
Also according to DuPont, producers who used Dermacor in the 2015-16 and 2016-17 harvests produced two more bags per hectare compared to the standard treatment, and kept the crop protected for up to 28 days after the plant emerged. “The protection of plants against the elasm caterpillar by Dermacor was three times greater. We also observed a lower incidence of coró per square meter and differentiated control of Spodoptera frugiperda”, concludes Érico Cardoso.
