Dry weather in the coming days should benefit the harvest in much of the country

The intense heat wave that has been plaguing the country is expected to keep temperatures at high levels until the end of this week, according to a survey carried out by ignitia Análise Climática. For several agricultural regions, this is good news, as in dry weather, all the work involved in harvesting is made easier.

For the director of ignitia for Latin America, João Rodrigo de Castro, the high temperatures at the beginning of the month have been attracting attention. “Historical March averages tend to bring much milder weather, especially at the end of summer. But what we are seeing is very strong heat, due to this new heat wave,” he says.

Castro also states that in the coming days, some areas of Brazil will face temperatures well above average. “In the west of Rio Grande do Sul, in the extreme west of Santa Catarina and Paraná and in the west of Mato Grosso do Sul, temperatures are expected to be up to 8ºC above the climatological average, which illustrates well the moment we are going through”, he comments. .

In the Southeast, a mass of dry air has been gaining strength, reducing the chances of rain in the region. In the Midwest, humid and warm air still predominates, with chances of rain showers in the afternoon and evening. Dry weather and lots of sun in the Northeast, with the combination of heat and high air humidity and the presence of areas of instability, maintaining rainy conditions for almost the entire region.

Rio Grande do Sul is expected to face a high volume of rain

If in most of the country the dry climate should be predominant over the next few days, in Rio Grande do Sul, the rains should advance with intensity. “The accumulated volume could reach 140mm in the south of the state and 150mm in practically all other regions of RS in the next 10 days”, concludes Castro.
