Furthermore, irrigation difficulties can harm the quality of the plants and prevent transplants, reducing long-term availability. On the other hand, due to the acceleration of the cycle due to high temperatures, the volume harvested this week may be greater, reflecting the concentration of supply.
Producers are also wary of increasing planting due to difficulties in relation to unstable consumption and lower-than-expected orders. As for prices, in recent days, the values of lettuce sold in Mogi das Cruzes (SP) registered a slight drop, due to low demand related to the end-of-month period. Between September 24th and 28th, the curly variety had an average of R$13,06/box with 20 units, 4,28% lower than the previous week.
