Dow AgroSciences Responsible Application Program passes through Bahia with training for soybean and corn crops

“The main objective of the Responsible Application Program is to carry out extension actions to present to rural producers the concepts of good practices in the application of agricultural pesticides, in addition to raising awareness and encouraging the adoption of these initiatives, in order to optimize resources, reduce the impact on environment and provide greater sustainability for agribusiness”, comments the coordinator of Good Agricultural Practices at Dow AgroSciences, Ana Cristina Pinheiro.

During practical training, all participants have contact with the Drift Simulator, equipment developed by Dow AgroSciences, in partnership with UNESP, which makes it possible to simulate real wind conditions and droplet sizes in applications. This way, it is possible for participants to have a real visualization of the effect of using each type of equipment - tip and working pressure -, according to the wind speed at the time of application.

Investment in technology and education is within the company's objectives, which focus on the importance of training to enable and disseminate the best recommendations through integrated practices at all stages of the cultivation and production process. Since its beginning in 2010, the program has trained around 15 rural professionals on the importance of good agricultural practices, focusing on application technology concepts.
