Domestic prices for Arabica coffee continue to fluctuate with some force, still operating below R$1 per 60 kg bag. While on November 9th, the CEPEA/ESALQ Indicator for type 6 Arabica, a hard drink for the better, placed in the capital of São Paulo, closed at R$ 930,62/60 kg bag, the lowest nominal level since July 20th, 2021 , on the 11th, it reached R$ 969,33/sc.
According to Cepea researchers, fluctuations in domestic values are linked to fluctuations observed in Arabica contracts traded on the New York Stock Exchange (ICE Futures).
In times of decline, future maturities are influenced by the possibility of recovery in world production of the variety and by expectations of lower demand for coffee in European countries, due to rising interest rates and the possibility of a global economic recession. The increases are due to technical recoveries.
