The agricultural input distribution market plays a strategic role in the sustainable development of Brazilian agriculture. Distribution companies associated with Andav are present in 1.041 municipalities and account for approximately 20% of the sector's financing in the country. This data was presented during the "Distributor: Market Access" panel at the 15th Andav Congress, promoted by Andav and organized by Zest Eventos, which took place until Thursday, August 13th, in São Paulo.

Moderated by Alberto Yoshida, Manager of Institutional Relations and New Business at Adubos Real, the panel addressed the role of distribution in producer financing, credit management and the relationship with the industry, as well as the need to expand service provision and prepare teams for new technologies. “Credit granting has become as important a pillar as sales,” stated Ricardo Bonacin, CEO of Núcleo Agrícola.

According to Aldair Santos, CEO of Precisão Rural, credit decisions should be based on information, proximity to the producer, and shared analysis.

Paulo Lima, managing partner of RUMO.Agro, highlighted the legal challenges faced by the sector and the need to improve internal credit granting processes and seek more effective guarantees.

Scenarios for Agriculture

China has already achieved a high degree of self-sufficiency in products such as rice, wheat, and pork, but faces greater difficulties in corn and, especially, soybeans, due to limitations related to land and water availability. This analysis was presented by Carlos Cogo, managing partner of Cogo Inteligência em Agronegócio Consulting, who gave a lecture at the Andav 2026 Congress.

Over the past 25 years, Brazilian soybean exports to the Chinese market have grown by an average of 9% per year. Although this pace is not expected to continue, experts believe it is unlikely that the Asian country will achieve self-sufficiency in soybean production.

For Brazil, Cogo pointed to value addition as one of the main paths forward for the coming years, especially given a scenario of tighter margins for producers. "From now on, the agenda will be value addition, with soybeans being exported also via biodiesel, meat, other proteins, and so on."

Andav Recognition Award: Personalities of Agriculture

The second day of the Andav Congress was also marked by the presentation of the Andav Recognition Award in the Agribusiness Personalities category. The award recognized eight professionals who, throughout their careers, have contributed to the construction and strengthening of the Agricultural Inputs Distribution sector, representing different regions of the country. They are: Marcos Rodrigues Chaves, Salvino Antonio Camarotti, Roberta Motta, Marco Antonio Nasser de Carvalho, Antonio Henrique Botelho Lima, Alberto Yoshida, Oswaldo Abud Rocha Filho, and José Yochikatu Hara.

In leading the tribute, the president of the Board of Directors of Andav, Marcos Chaves, highlighted the legacy built by those being honored and the contribution of each of them to the development of the association and the sector.
