The distribution of agricultural inputs plays a significant role in the Brazilian agricultural chain, reaffirming its fundamental importance to the country's economy. According to the 11th National Distribution Survey, conducted by the National Association of Agricultural and Veterinary Input Distributors (Andav) in partnership with the Center for Advanced Studies in Applied Economics (Cepea-Esalq/USP), the segment reached a revenue of R$ 171 billion in 2025, with R$ 105 billion from inputs, R$ 43 billion from grain sales, and R$ 23 billion from machinery, services, and other related activities. This information was released on Thursday, August 13th, during the final day of the Andav 2026 Congress, which began on August 11th, an event organized by Andav and Zest Eventos.

Thiago Bernardino, technical coordinator of Cepea-Esalq/USP, emphasized during the presentation of the research methodology that the work involves the contribution of various professionals, which demonstrates the importance and value of the survey conducted by Andav for the sector.

Another important piece of data indicates that soybeans remained the main crop served by distributors, representing 43% of the sector's activity, followed by corn, with 20%. Among the input segments, chemical pesticides led with a 43% share, followed by soil fertilizers (17%) and seeds (16%).

The sector's solidity is reflected in the longevity of its operations, given that 82% of companies have accumulated more than 11 years of experience in the market, building a base of indispensable expertise to mitigate the risks inherent in the volatility of agribusiness.

The research also showed a 3,5% growth in the number of stores compared to January 2025. Looking ahead, the outlook is one of strategic, yet cautious, optimism: 32% of agricultural input distribution companies plan to open new units by 2028.

During the presentation of the research, Paulo Tiburcio, CEO of Andav, highlighted that distributors are responsible for 47% of all inputs that reach Brazilian producers. This number demonstrates the strength and importance of the sector.

The next edition of the Andav Congress will be held between August 03rd and 05th, 2027.
