RS 2024/25 Harvest: soybean harvest reaches 98% of the area
Summer crop productivity falls 24,6% compared to initial estimate
According to the latest analysis of the Edenred Ticket Log Price Index (IPTL), regular diesel and type S-10 had average prices of R$6,25 and R$6,31, respectively, in the first half of May. The values represent respective drops of 2,65% and 2,62% for the two types of fuel, compared to the equivalent period in April.
“The drop of over 2,6% in the average prices of regular diesel and S-10 type in the first half of May represents a drop of R$0,17 per liter compared to the beginning of April, one cent more than the last cut announced by Petrobras to distributors, of R$0,16. This movement reflects the third downward adjustment promoted by the state-owned company in 2025 and shows that the transfer has reached the pumps, contributing to alleviating supply costs”, analyzes Renato Mascarenhas, Director of Network, Operations and Transformation at Edenred Mobilidade.
With the adjustment, when analyzing the average values regionally, it is noted that, compared to the first half of April, all regions of Brazil followed the national average and registered a drop, with highlights for the South, which registered the largest drops in the country for regular diesel (3,37%), and for S-10 (3,03%, the same reduction as the Center-West). The South was also where, once again, the cheapest diesel in the country was sold, for both types. In the region, regular diesel was sold on average at R$6,03, while S-10 was sold at an average of R$6,09.
The most expensive prices were found in the North, where S-10 diesel was sold at R$6,75, even after a 2,03% drop, and regular diesel at R$6,91, after a 1,29% reduction.
In the evaluation by states, the highlight of the first half of May was again Acre, which recorded the highest averages for both types of diesel. After a drop of 0,89%, the common type reached the value of R$ 7,78 in the state, while S-10, which showed a reduction of 1,78%, fell to R$ 7,73. The biggest reduction for common diesel occurred in Alagoas, where the average price of the fuel fell to R$ 6,33 after a drop of 6,08%.
The lowest average price for regular diesel was recorded at gas stations in Paraná, at R$6,00, after a 3,85% drop compared to the first half of April. Meanwhile, the lowest price for S-10 diesel was found in Pernambuco, where the fuel was sold at R$5,95, after a 4,49% drop compared to the same period in the previous month, the largest reduction among all Brazilian states.
It is also worth noting that the largest increases in the prices of both types of diesel were recorded in Amazonas, where drivers saw a 0,86% increase in the common type, which raised the average price of the fuel to R$7,00. Meanwhile, S-10 saw a 0,28% increase in the state, reaching an average price of R$7,05.
