According to the latest analysis of the Edenred Ticket Log Price Index (IPTL), a survey that consolidates the price behavior of transactions at gas stations, providing a precise average, diesel became cheaper in September compared to August: while the common type of fuel decreased 0,32% in the period, reaching an average price of R$6,17, diesel S-10 had an average of R$6,21, a decrease of 0,16% compared to August.
"The IPTL analysis shows that the decline was reflected in both types of diesel, with regular diesel seeing the largest reduction during the period. This movement helps to somewhat balance spending in the transportation sector, which directly affects any fluctuation in fuel prices," explains Renato Mascarenhas, Supply Network Director at Edenred Mobilidade.
In the individual analysis of each region of the country in September, the Northeast stood out as the only region to register an increase for common diesel, of 0,16% (R$ 6,17). The biggest drop for the common type of diesel was registered in the North, of 0,74% (R$ 6,71). For the S-10 type, the biggest drop was identified in the South, of 0,33% (R$ 6,04).
The lowest prices in the country among the regions were recorded in the South: R$5,99 for the common type, after a drop of 0,17%, and R$6,04 for the S-10 (-0,33%).
The highest prices for regular diesel and S-10 in the country in September were recorded in the North, where they cost, on average, R$6,71 (-0,74%), and R$6,59 (-0,15%), respectively.
In its state-by-state survey, IPTL found that the highest average price for regular diesel in September was recorded in Acre, at R$7,59 (stable). Paraíba, Paraná, and Rio Grande do Sul appear as the states where drivers found regular diesel most affordable in September: at R$5,98 on average in all three states. Bahia, in turn, saw the most significant increase in the country for regular diesel, at 1,96%, selling the fuel for an average of R$6,25. The fuel saw its largest drop in the month in Amazonas, at 2,54%, selling for an average of R$6,51.
