Cyclone causes heavy rain in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo in the coming days

The cyclone could be classified as a subtropical storm, with winds of up to 83 km/h at high seas.

A subtropical cyclone is expected to form in the high seas, southeast of the city of Arraial do Cabo (RJ), moving east and then south/southwest, starting this Wednesday night (14). The phenomenon will cause a lot of rain on the north coast of São Paulo to the Metropolitan Region of Rio de Janeiro, with greater attention to the Costa Verde region, including the municipalities of Angra dos Reis and Paraty. 

The information was confirmed by the Brazilian Navy, through the Navy Hydrography Center (CHM), in collaboration with the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet), the Integrated Center for Aeronautical Meteorology of the Brazilian Air Force (Cimaer/FAB) and the National Institute for Space Research (Inpe). 

If atmospheric conditions persist and the wind intensifies, the cyclone can be classified as a subtropical storm, which can cause winds of up to 83 km/h around the cyclone, mainly in the south and southeast sectors, until next Tuesday night. fair (20).

Inmet issued, on the afternoon of this Wednesday, a special meteorological warning of red level (great danger) for intense rains in areas of the states of Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo valid until 18pm this Thursday (15).
