Cummins presents new generation of energy at Agrishow.

Equipment using B20 and lower emissions enhances efficiency in agriculture.

In a scenario of increasing mechanization, precision agriculture, and greater environmental demands, energy generation in the field is an integral part of the strategic infrastructure of Brazilian agribusiness. At the 2026 edition of Agrishow, Cummins Brazil presents a new stage in the technical update of its generator sets, with emission-compliant engines, compatibility with biodiesel blends of up to 20% (B20), and environmental and structural solutions previously restricted to the Rental line, expanding the robustness standard available to rural producers. The company also advocates for national regulatory harmonization as a basis for providing market predictability and promoting the technological modernization of generator sets sold and installed in the country.

The city of São Paulo, for example, already adopts specific emission limits for diesel engines, according to Municipal Decree No. 60.233, aligned with technical standards that require electronic control and greater combustion efficiency.

“Experiences like that of the São Paulo capital demonstrate that consistent technical criteria increase predictability for those investing in the field. Well-defined rules encourage the adoption of more efficient technologies and contribute to raising the environmental standard of energy generation, with lower emissions and greater operational efficiency. The adoption of clear national parameters drives the technological upgrading of generation in the country, strengthening competitiveness and environmental responsibility,” says Cora Reis, Executive Sales Manager at Cummins Power Generation.

In this environment of greater operational and environmental demands, Cummins presents its line equipped with the QSF 4.5 electronic engine, available in power ratings of 113 kVA, 138 kVA and 163 kVA, in the C90D6e, C110D6e and C130D6e models, respectively.

Developed to meet higher technical standards, the QSF 4.5 incorporates electronic fuel injection control, allowing for more efficient operation under different load regimes, an essential feature in agricultural applications where energy demand can vary throughout the day.

Compared to non-emission mechanical versions, such as those equipped with the 6B mechanical engine, the generator set with the QSF 4.5 engine provides up to 60% reduction in NOx and particulate matter emissions, as well as up to 10% fuel savings. The higher power density of the set contributes to better energy efficiency, without increasing size or operational complexity.

This line, as well as Cummins' emission-compliant portfolio between 40 kVA and 500 kVA, meets the technical parameters required in the city of São Paulo. “Another relevant point is the compatibility with biodiesel blends of up to 20% (B20). In a scenario where the Brazilian market operates with B15, this preparation increases the energy flexibility of rural producers and anticipates the gradual evolution of the energy matrix, ensuring that the equipment is ready for higher percentages without the need for future adaptation,” reinforces Cora Reis.

In addition to energy efficiency, Cummins is raising the environmental and operational standards of its commercial line by incorporating solutions traditionally applied in the engineering of the Rental line, a segment known for its demanding applications and intensive usage cycles.

Among the key differentiators is the base with 110% fluid containment, designed to fully retain the total volume of diesel, oil, and other operational liquids, with an additional safety margin. This solution reduces the risk of soil contamination and reinforces the environmental compliance of rural properties, especially in sensitive operations or those near protected areas.

The line also now features an integrated inspection window, which allows for quick monitoring of fuel levels and facilitates preventive maintenance, increasing operational predictability and reducing the risk of unscheduled downtime.

Complementing the overall design, the fairing was developed for typical field conditions, with a sound attenuation level of 85 dB at one meter, according to ISO 8528-10. The sloping roof prevents water accumulation and reduces the risk of corrosion, while the side and central lifting points and the reinforced structure for handling with forklifts facilitate transport and relocation on uneven terrain. The result is greater durability and protection of the equipment even under continuous exposure to dust, rain, and temperature variations.

Cummins stands out in the Brazilian market for developing in-house the main components that make up the generator set, engine, alternator, control and monitoring systems, and transfer switches. This architecture reduces incompatibilities, increases reliability, and contributes to lower operational risk on farms.

Cummins generator sets come with a standard two-year warranty for Standby applications (up to 1.000 hours) or one year for Prime applications, in addition to a distribution network throughout Brazil with specialized technical support.
